"Anna Rastner has longstanding and extensive expertise in digital content, from practical, strategic and business-related perspectives. She will now have the very important responsibility to further accelerate our digital transformation, to grow and capitalise on the strength that our content provides digitally, and to develop us to address the increased demand from viewers to watch television on new platforms, when they want, in all programme genres. It is with great pleasure that I welcome Anna Rastner to TV4," says TV4 Group's Director of Content Åsa Sjöberg.
The task of the Head of Digital Programmes is largely to extend and expand the work related to TV4 Group's extensive programme rights and talent, and to identify new ways for content to reach viewers and consumers. It also includes developing new programmes and concepts directly for digital platforms like TV4 Play and YouTube.
"The television industry is currently undergoing the same digital transformation that has been a reality for many other media and sectors for a number of years. TV4 has an incredibly strong brand, fantastic content and enormous expertise among its employees. These provide excellent prospects for driving a digital shift of the business," says Anna Rastner.
The work of the Head of Digital Programmes cuts across TV4 Group's five other content departments – General TV, News and Current Affairs, Sports, Acquisitions and Formats, and Drama. The Head of Digital Programmes will steer TV4 Group's digital transformation in all programme genres, and will report, just like the five heads of genre, to Director of Content Åsa Sjöberg.
For the past year, Anna Rastner has worked as Head of Editorial Business Development at Mittmedia. Previously she worked for eight years at Expressen newspaper, including a position as Managing Editor for Digital Content, and as Editor for Expressen TV. She has also worked at MTG, including five years at TV8, first as a programme host and then as Head of Programmes and CEO.
Anna Rastner will assume her role in November.
